Pricing Structure
Printed Circuit Design:
Typically, new boards are priced on a fixed price basis. The price is
usually the EIC Count multiplied by a "magic number". The magic number
runs anywhere from $28 to $50 depending on but not limited to the
following:
Routing Density (this
is the number of usable square inches divided by the EIC count...the
smaller, the more dense)
Complexity (These
are special needs that are defined by the
PCB designer, such as the use of blind or
burried vias, or dealing with placement density issues )
Special attention requirements
(These are special needs defined by the engineer, such as differential
pairs, controlled impedance, matched lenghts, daisy chains, etc)
Needed turn time requirements
(Our quotes reflect our standard turn time based on an 8 hour man-day,
we do quote slow, fast, and extreme too).
We will then add on $100.00 for the creation of AutoCad® Fab and
assembly drawings.
We will only add hours if the following happens:
Significant changes to the original input package (this can be
construed as architectural changes or pinout changes)
Changes in the Scope of the project
Placement changes after customer approval.
All ecos to existing boards are quoted as an estimated number of hours.
Most of the time the assumption is "not to exceed" the given amount.
There are special cases though rare where we must literally go "by the
hour".
Hourly Rate: $110.00
Autorouting:
Autorouting pricing is very simple.....it is
$0.33/node firm. for standard boards $0.66/node for blind/buried.
Schematic Capture
Schematic Capture is quoted as an
estimated number of hours. Most of the time
the assumption is "not to exceed" the given amount. There are special
cases though rare where we must literally go "by the hour".
Circuit Design Mechanical Design and
Whole Projects
Engineering proposals are drafted and reviewed with the
customer regularly on a phase by phase basis. Projects such as these
are on a time and materials basis but the proposal usually incorporates
everything up front.
